Rob is a NYC based classical guitarist, focused on education. He is a registered Suzuki Guitar Instructor, and has completed training on Suzuki Guitar Books 1, 2 and 3. In utilizing the Suzuki Method, Rob is an experienced educator when it comes to working with young children. Currently, he has a very active Suzuki Guitar Studio here at the NYCGS, with students from ages 3 and up. Rob?s main goal when teaching children is to help them develop a passion for playing guitar and help them to take joy in creating music.
In addition to his Suzuki background, Rob received his Masters in Classical Guitar Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. He also received a Bachelor of Music with Emphasis in Recording Technology from the University of Wisconsin ? Oshkosh. During his time in Wisconsin he received a grant that allowed him to create an award-winning guitar method book, Classical Guitar for Electric Guitarists.
Over the years he has taken lessons with Charlie Combe, Matthew Miller, James Flegel, and Mark Delpriora. Rob received his Suzuki Guitar training from Andrea Cannon. He has also participated in masterclasses with Roland Dyens, Fabio Zanon, Martha Masters and Pepe Romero.
