The Summer Guitar Intensive is a five day program for the advanced guitar player looking to radically improve their playing in high-level group and individual study, ensemble playing, and by connecting with other like-minded guitarists in a supportive atmosphere. In this 25 hour program, you'll experience personalized coaching from an expert instructor in one-one lessons, study in daily group classes and clinics, and jam with fellow students in daily ensemble classes.

Your final performance on Friday night is open to all family, friends, and fans!

Program Details
-Daily guitar clinics and classes on lead guitar technique, soloing approaches, harmony, rhythm, ear training and theory.
-Daily ensemble sessions so that you can immediately put your new knowledge and skills to practical use with other musicians.
-Daily 1 hour private lesson with an expert NYC Guitar School instructor (Monday - Thursday).
-Guest seminar taught by a special celebrity guitarist.
-Final concert at an NYC rock venue!

• Learn how to fully utilize different scales like pentatonics, major, and minor and understand their applications in various musical situations.
• Learn specific solos and the underlying theory of solos in songs from Metallica, Pink Floyd, and more.
• Strengthen your rhythm guitar playing by studying the complex rhythms in song examples by Foo Fighters, Mumford and Sons etc.
• Learn harmony the way accomplished musicians understand music. Using real song examples for application.
• Develop your musicality through ear training. Learn and drill intervals and chord qualities.
• Study intermediate and advanced fingerpicking technique
• Learn about alternate tuning through songs by Led Zeppelin, Green Day, and more.
• Re-enforce barre chords and learn sophisticated movable chords and chord voicings.

Guitar Skills and Requirements
Open to advanced players only who at a minimum know and are comfortable with barre chords and pentatonic scales, have played with others, know songs by heart, and have played for years. Open to ages 17 and over only.
