NYC Guitar School is one of America’s largest music schools with 3,000 students and 50 teachers, including campers in NYC’s longest running rock music day camp. Students love our camp because they make friends, learn new skills, make music and play a great show. But our ultimate mission is not teaching music. Our mission is “Coaching Personal Greatness One Lesson At A Time” and we know that our summer program is successful when our campers grow in confidence, skill and musical and social resilience.

Most of our summer coaches are continuing NYCGS teachers, however we have limited openings for full summer in-person band coaches who are new to our school.

Ideal applicants will have experience playing in, leading, or coaching bands, as well as experience teaching, working with kids, being a camp counselor, etc., and will have a degree in music or education or other related field or will be actively engaged in studying or working in these fields.

This is also a good opportunity to get to know our school (and for us to get to know you) for regular teaching opportunities. (Many of our regular teachers began with us as summer camp teachers).

Camp Schedule: M-F July 5th through Aug 11th

Session One (8 days): July 5 (Wed) – July 14 (Fri)
Session Two (10 days): July 17 (Mon) – July 28 (Fri)
Session Three (10 days): July 31 (Mon) – Aug 11 (Fri)

Daily Schedule: Teens 9:45-3pm
Kids 9:15-2:30
**First day of each session begins 45 minutes earlier.
**Last day of each session (show day) ends at 5:30pm.

In-person bands meet in Midtown Manhattan Monday – Friday.

Pay-rates:
–$1,120/10-day session/$1,056/8-day session + $300 bonus for perfect attendance
–Booster/Lessons: bonus of $120/10-day session for 8 30-minute booster lessons or $90/8-day session for 6 30-minute booster lessons before or after camp.
–$100 bonus for pre-camp Summer Training.
