Sam Allen first picked up his first guitar to play all his favorite Clash and Ramones songs at the age of 10 and has been playing and writing music ever since!? Sam graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in music from the Music Conservatory at SUNY Purchase in 2011.? Enrolled in the Studio Production program, he learned music theory and performance with a focus in recording and arranging in a recording studio environment.
Sam started teaching guitar at the Ossining, NY music school where he studied in high school and continued teaching at a music school in Rye, NY during and after college.? Sam enjoys giving young students the foundation to become life-long musicians, as well as helping more advanced students fine-tune their skills.? Sam specializes in teaching rock and blues guitar, along with digital music and rock band classes to students of all ages.? He also enjoys writing songs with his students, from songs about missing teeth with young beginners to adults flexing their creative muscles.? Sam loves sharing his performing experience with his students and teaching stage presence and rock guitar tricks of the trade.
Sam currently lives in Brooklyn where he records other artists and composes his own material for films.? Sam plays guitar and writes songs for the rock n? roll group Wyldlife.? Wyldlife has had two songs become the ?Coolest Song in the World This Week? on Little Steven?s Underground Garage on SiriusXM radio. He has also toured the US several times sharing the stage with “Handsome” Dick Manitoba, CJ Ramone, Dramarama, Biters, Pains of Being Pure at Heart among others. Sam also appears as Ronnie Wood of The Faces in the upcoming Martin Scorcese-Mick Jagger produced HBO Series “Vinyl”.
