Eliane Delage has been teaching at NYC Guitar School since 2008. Originally from São Paulo, Brasil, Eliane started her studies at age of 10 and started playing professionally at 17. Her playing ability and experience in bands ranges in style from Funk, Brazilian Music, Rock, Folk, Pop, Blues and Metal and Classical.
Eliane attended the Guitar Institute of Technology (I,G&T) in Sao Paulo, Brasil, graduating in 1989. Eliane also studied Audio Recording at the Musician’s Institute (MI) in Hollywood, CA. She is an accomplished guitarist, composer, and sound engineer.
Besides being a great musician, Eliane is a remarkable teacher; extremely patient and friendly. In 2009, Eliane was featured in the Daily News as one of “NY’s Guitar Heroes” due to her extensive work teaching Rock Guitar for Kids and Teens. Eliane loves teaching children, teens, and adults, she has over 20 years of teaching experience and her specialties include private lessons, each level of the Beginners Classes, Lead Guitar, Brazilian Guitar, Rock Guitar for Kids and Teens, Adult Rock Band and Summer Camp.
In the Summer of 2010, Eliane successfully directed NYC Guitar School Rock Camp and in May of 2012, Eliane and her kids students were invited to perform at the United Nations as part of Children’s Day of Turkey. She was honored along fellow teachers on stage by the Ambassador of Turkey.
Eliane is the founder of the Eliane Delage Guitar Ensemble (EDGE) and the Happy Hour Guitar jam (www.meetup.com/happyhourguitar), an amazing practice session where students jam together in a fun and supportive environment. The jam happens every Friday at NYC Guitar School midtown location (currently on Zoom during pandemic).
Eliane Delage has also released three albums available on iTunes; “Christmas on Brazilian Guitar” (2015), “Hot Tea?” (2016) and “Butterflies in the Winds of Change” (2017).
In 2019, Eliane had the honor to perform at Carnegie Hall as a featured artist with her Delage Quartet, they performed Eliane’s arrangement of “Carmina Burana” for two electric guitars, violin and voice (NYC Guitar School teacher Daisy Press, soprano).
During the pandemic Eliane is keeping busy teaching and making video collaborations with her students and friends, here’s a tribute to NYC essential workers with people coming together singing “New York, New York”.
