Student Experience Coordinator Details

Help people reach their musical dreams as you grow your business skills and understanding.

Why this is a GREAT opportunity for you:
–As the Student Experience Coordinator, we will teach you to understand business and how to grow our Midtown and Brooklyn locations by supporting the school’s Leadership Team.
–Eagles fly with eagles. We are one of America’s top music schools because we have a motivated and passionate team that gets results. If that sounds like you, this might be your home.
–Our school is growing in revenue, students, and locations, and this opportunity can also grow over time.
–And yes, ALL our team gets free guitar or voice classes, and that will include you.

Your character:
–You are positive and optimistic. You love welcoming and encouraging people, and you like working as part of a high performing team.
–You are hardworking and reliable, with a track record which demonstrates your work ethic.
–You are creative, you LOVE making things happen, and you can point to past successes.
–You learn and improve, and you can showcase the skills which you learned on your own.
–You are excited about the idea of sharing your love of music and guitar with students of all ages.
–You are not afraid to keep things clean and tidy–which will include our bathrooms!

Your skills:
–You are passionate about working with people and have some background in working with others in retail, customer service, education, teaching, etc.
–Prior customer service experience is a plus.
–You have experience working independently on projects or programs.
–You are comfortable setting goals and deadlines and are ready to run a checklist, help improve our systems, and learn the software we use on a day-to-day basis.
–You are a reader and writer. You enjoy reading and learning, and are an attentive writer with good grammar and spelling.
–A college degree is great–but we would take someone with a proven record of hard work, success, and self-improvement over a college degree any day.

Your responsibilities will include:
–Assist in managing the day to day administration of the Midtown and Brooklyn locations: input lessons into our database, greeting and advising students on our lesson and class offerings.
–Run the location’s daily checklist.
–Work closely with our Leadership Team to grow and improve our lesson and class programs.

Compensation: $40,000 per year with the opportunity for annual raises.

Scheduling: Full-time position, Sat-Wed (Thu and Fri off). 40 hours per week. Weeknights and weekend availability is a must.

Additional Benefits:
–Free classes at any NYCGS location and discounted private lessons. We can help you grow as a musician!
–Company retirement with a match.
–Transitchek.
–Professional development opportunities: learn how to coordinate a busy music school program. All of our location and program directors, many of our teachers and one of our owners started in this position.
–Attire? No need to suit up! We welcome “rock ‘n’ roll casual.”
–A community of creative individuals who care about “coaching personal greatness.”

NOTE: Our team and student community reflect many different points of view, experiences and backgrounds united in a love of music and learning. We put our mission before politics. That means that if you’re not willing to work with people who may have different perspectives or private beliefs than you, this might not be the right organization for you.
