One Year Guitar Certificate Program for Beginners

The five required classes (Guitar I, II, III, IV and V) will take you from absolute beginner to advanced beginner in acoustic or electric guitar, and provide a strong base for further study in any style of guitar. Materials covered include:

• open chords, essential strums and fundamental techniques
• reading chord diagrams, charts and tablature
• expressive rhythm skills
• basic music theory, small barre chords, arpeggios, slash chords, riffing and running.
• song structure, playing songs by heart, building your set list
• barre chords, power chords, and note locations

The Basic Guitar Certificate Program typically takes a year to complete, with classes meeting once per week. Upon completion of the Basic Guitar Certificate Program, graduates will perform one or more songs in a live show and will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement.
