Here, There, and Everywhere: Music Theory Via The Beatles
This class will dive into the magical mysteries of the Beatles' songs, deconstructing which musical tools they used to create the most revered catalogue of music in the 20th century. We will cover a few songs each week, with a focus on a specific musical technique. In each class, we will discuss a few of the most legendary riffs, solos, songs, and concepts, the teacher Curtis J Brewer will provide charts and tab for each lesson. Prerequisites: This class is best suited for more advanced players. Being comfortable with barre chords, basic functionally harmony (roman numeral / Nashville system) power chords, major / minor scale shapes is ideal. Students will also need to know how to read tab and chord charts. Some riffs and songs will be a little easier but some will definitely be more advanced. We are going to learning riffs, chord progressions, melodies, and music theory. Some concepts are still pretty approachable for all skill levels. Beginners are of course welcome to come through, especially if they're ready to learn more about the Beatles!
