Riffmasters and Their Classic Riffs (Adults/Teens)
Every week join Mark to delve into the essential riffs of an iconic guitarist. Classes will include: ACDC’s Angus Young (Back in Black, Highway to Hell, Thunderstruck), Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello (Bombtrack, Sleep Now In The Fire, Guerrilla Radio), Led Zepplin's Jimmy Page (Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Immigrant Song), The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards (Satisfaction, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar). PREREQUISITES: You should have a firm understanding of the basic chords and know how to read and understand TAB. If you've completed Near Beginners, you should be good to go. Fake it Til You Make It: Teach Yourself Songs
You decide to learn a song, let's say "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. You google "Wish You Were Here Chords" and end up somewhere like UltimateGuitar.com. If you're lucky, you see chords that you know and there's those familiar lyrics but now what? How do you strum it? How long do you stay on each chord? In this one hour class you will learn to teach yourself songs using simple techniques for every student. We will be using examples requested by you and others in the class.
