IN-PERSON Open-Mic hosted monthly by NYCGS!
IN-PERSON Open-Mic hosted monthly by NYCGS!
This Meetup is happening at our Midtown Studio! NOTE: Students can RSVP directly on our website so the total number of Meetup RSVPs does not reflect the number of people attending. Practice and polish your original song or cover at home...then bring your guitar (or ukulele, violin, harmonica, etc.) and meet your friendly fellow performers at NYC Guitar School to perform in a fun and encouraging online environment. BEGINNER'S welcome to perform. Josh is your host for the evening! To offset the cost of running the open mic (and to make sure you don't chicken out) there is a $5 fee for each performer (duos or trios, please note each member needs to sign up). Space is limited to 15 performers - and it typically fills up! Performers and audience members don't have to be 21+ . We are looking forward to meeting you all and if you have any questions, please feel free to email us at info@NYCGuitarSchool.com PS: If you are a current NYCGS Member (or interested in becoming a member)...please use the link below to sign up as this is included with your monthly membership - https://nycguitarschool.com/member-events/

FREE ONLINE Recording & Music Production One Hour Workshop
FREE ONLINE Recording & Music Production One Hour Workshop
Guess what? It's super simple to start recording and producing your own music! Learn the very basics of creating your own beats and recording your own music in this FREE ONE hour Online Workshop! To get started, you won't need an interface, microphones, a mixing board, or cables. All you need is a computer and a pair of headphones! First, let’s dispel some common misconceptions… * *Don’t I need a whole bunch of expensive microphones?* Nope. You don’t even need *one*! * *Don’t I need a giant mixing board with 1,000 knobs and big studio speakers?* No way. It’s all in your computer! * *Don’t I need a giant room with a bunch of sound proofing, a wall of amplifiers, a grand piano and a titanic drum set?* Definitely not! Any bedroom, bathroom or closet will do. It’s true, these things are present in some professional studios where bands and orchestras record. And we won't lie--if you enjoy producing music on your computer, you will quite possibly end up with an interface, mic, and more. But you might not even know what an interface is! If you want to produce music, the first step is the most important one--and that is the step where you *get started.* Once you begin, you'll naturally build up a context to learn more. *But right now?* The truth is that you don’t need fancy gear to begin making amazing sounding music on your own. You just need to get started! Let us show you how! In the RAMP (Recording And Music Production) class you will learn the basics of recording and producing your own music in a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) using the cloud-based recording studio (https://www.soundtrap.com/). We will start with how to create a single track, record and loop audio regions and use the beat sequencer to keep everything in time! This is open for all instruments including voice! This free webinar is the perfect chance to start your new favorite hobby of music production in a fun and simple way. In this one hour session, you'll learn to create your Cloud-Based recording workstation, set a few parameters like gain, volume and tempo, make a simple beat, and record your very first audio track! After the webinar, you'll know enough to take the next steps on your own--or you can continue with the RAMP course as a NYC Guitar School online class student. (Find out more about (https://nycguitarschool.com/join-us/) or (https://nycguitarschoolstaff.com/mindBodyAPI/examples/class-schedule-example/dropIns.php?emailCheck=&targetName%5B%5D=Recording%20And%20Music%20Production%201&skin=true) directly!) **About Your Teacher:** NYC Guitar School veteran teacher and band coach Dylan Charles is an expert guitarist, bassist, drummer, singer/songwriter and experienced producer. He's played and taught for over 20 years. He especially enjoys sharing the joy of music production with novice producers and seeing (and hearing) them gain confidence and skill. Dylan's positive energy and encouraging style have made him a favorite of students online and in-person.
