An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Monday, repeating until December 31, 2020
You have a song inside you–you know you do! Maybe you’ve started writing a song but haven’t yet finished it, or have learned to play covers and have wondered what it would be like to write your own song. Maybe you have a way with words, but haven’t put them together with music. Or maybe you just would like a fun challenge! Whether you want a forum to workshop and complete your song, or would like to learn the basics of songwriting in a fun, supportive and hands-on environment, the songwriting drop-in class is the perfect musical and expressive weekend. In this exciting and intensive class, you’ll explore song structures, write lyrics, and put together music. Open to total songwriting novices, as well as those looking to build their existing songwriting skills. Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.” Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” Carrie Underwood’s “When He Cheats.” Jackson Browne’s “The Great Pretender.” We’ll crack the code to writing specific, moving lyrics and apply it to our own songs!
