Recording and Music Production 101
In this 8 week course expert instructors will guide you through every step of your first recording experience, from checking your sound level and making a track to pressing record and getting that perfect lightning-in-a-bottle take. Meet on Zoom and record original or cover songs using the cloud-based recording platform Soundtrap. You can even compose songs within Soundtrap using their built-in loops, no instrument required! Then dive into the basics of mixing and production where you will learn all about how to use EQ, panning, compressors and a plethora of other effects to enhance the sound of your track. Learn from and be inspired by your fellow classmates as you meet at the end of each class to share what you’ve been working on. This course culminates with a live-stream virtual concert showcasing one song from each student!Requirements: No prior recording experience necessary!
Recording and Music Production 101 (Using Logic)
In this 8 week course you will learn the basics of using the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Logic. From checking your sound level and making a track to pressing record and getting that perfect lightning-in-a-bottle take, our expert instructors will guide you through every step of your first recording experience. Record original music, covers and even compose songs within Logic using built-in loops and software instruments, no physical instruments required! Then dive into the basics of mixing and production where you will learn all about how to use EQ, panning, compressors and a plethora of other effects to enhance the sound of your track. Learn from and be inspired by your fellow classmates as you meet at the end of each class to share what you’ve been working on.Requirements: For Apple users only. No prior recording experience necessary!
