3 Classic Songs with Just 2 Chords by Chuck Berry, Sly & The Family Stone, and The Staple Singers

3 Classic Songs with Just 2 Chords by Chuck Berry, Sly & The Family Stone, and The Staple Singers

What if I told you that in a matter of about 15 minutes you could be playing songs by three super influential artists/bands and all you need is two chords? You might say I’m crazy, but I’d say that it’s totally possible (and hey, I created some videos to help you!)

It’s really easy to get discouraged when first learning guitar: first we need to learn how to strum before we can learn how to shred, but sometimes you just want to jam out! These very jammable songs help you get your feet wet with just two chords: the G chord and D chord.

You’ll learn to create these chord shapes, some basic strumming patterns, and you’ll be playing Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell”, Sly & The Family Stone’s “Everyday People”, and The Staple Singers’ “I’ll Take You There”, in no time!

These three artists/groups have had an immense influence on rock/pop music, and I’m always excited when I get to share such amazing artists with such a simple version of a song that anyone can learn! So what are you waiting for, check out these videos and start jamming!

1. Sly & The Family Stone “Everyday People”

2. Chuck Berry “You Never Can Tell”

3. The Staple Singers “I’ll Take You There”
