Weekend of Rock for Teens Ages 12 - 14
So you are ready to be a rock star?
Okay, maybe you just want to play like a rock star, experience what it's like to be in a band, and then record a CD of your live performance, all in one weekend!
During this intensive two-day program, you'll rock out with others under the patient and expert guidance of an experienced instructor in a fully equipped studio with guitar and bass amps, and drum kit. You'll be paired with other future rock stars of the same age and ability. At the end of your rock band experience, get ready to show off your skills in a live show for your family and friends! We'll record a CD of the show at no additional charge and mail it out to you.
Guitars and bass guitars available for students to use upon request. If you'd like to reserve an instrument, please call us at 646-485-7244 before your program starts. The group will play popular songs, including student requests and original student compositions.
Requirements for Advanced Bands: At least one year of playing experience, ability to play through complete songs, and ability to understand simple song charts.
For guitar, students also should be familiar with open and barre chords, and be able to understand basic chord diagrams and tablature.
For bass and keyboards, students also should be familiar with basic techniques and be able to understand basic chord diagrams.
For drums, students also should be familiar with basic drum rudiments.
For vocals, students also should have an understanding of basic breathing technique and ability to match pitches by ear.
Requirements for Near Beginner Bands: For guitar, students should be familiar with open chords, with barre chords preferable, and be able to understand basic chord diagrams.
For bass, drums, and keyboards, students should be familiar with basic technique and be able to understand simple song charts.
For vocals, students should have an ability to match pitches by ear and the ability to read simple song charts.
