Alex Feder

Originally a drummer, Alex Feder started teaching himself guitar at the age of 13 in 1996. Fast forward ten years to 2006, Alex now has a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from NYU, has performed everywhere from The Knitting Factory Mainstage to Shea Stadium, and recently toured Greece with NYC funk mainstay the Milo Z band! Although he studied jazz at NYU with Mordy Ferber, John Scofield, and Bruce Arnold, his specialties remain those styles that originally attracted him to the guitar: rock, funk and soul. He also composes and arranges all the music for his rock band, The XYZ Affair. His obsession with music is matched only by his passion for passing on this obsession to other people. Whether you want to learn in-depth guitar theory and ear training or just want to learn how to play your favorite song note for note, Alex will patiently and creatively target the best way to teach you anything you could ever want to learn on the guitar.
