Aki Ishiguro

Aki Ishiguro has been playing and practicing for more than 11 years. He still remembers the first lesson he received when he learned to play a Nirvana song. After learning some Nirvana tunes, he became determined to learn the solos to all of Metallica's songs. Later in his guitar career Aki developed a love for more than just rock, which landed him in the Berklee College of Music. He graduated from Berklee in 2006 with a dual major degree in Jazz Guitar Performance and Jazz Composition. Since then, he has had the honor of playing and studying with masters such as Mick Goodrick, George Garzone, and Joe Lovano. Aki also has touring experiences in Portugal, Japan, and Costa Rica. He can be heard in the city playing in his original contemporary jazz group Aki Ishiguro Quartet and the up-and-coming original rock band Lucius.
